Okay, summer blockbusters. Since Jaws set the scene way back in 1975, they’ve been a part of our annual hot-weather entertainment. NOW- here we are in the depths of melty weather. What to do? Start up a new theme, that’s what!

It’s “Salute to $9 Air Conditioning,” wherein you the Fake Criterions reader make your covers based upon summer blockbusters past and present. Memory’s failing you? Not sure if that treasured gem came out between Memorial Day and Labor Day when you were 13? Look it up on IMDb to be sure, or dig out those 1990s issues of Premiere. Here’s a google search to get those brain cells working, too.

Draw them and photograph them, Photoshop them, whatever. Tag them “$9 air conditioning” on Tumblr or send them to fakecriterions[at]gmail.com.

Drink plenty of fluids and get cracking!
